Married Life...so far

Soo i know its been ages since the last post, i really have been meaning to update the blog but its been a bit busy lately. Dave and I have been married now for almost 6 months, seems like its been longer but STILL...the time is flying by. It really has been a quick few months. We were able to enjoy the summer, it went by way too fast though (not ready for the cold).

The past few months have been filled with so many things, for starters one of my best friends left on her mission. Sister Megan Bishop is now serving in the Baltimore, Maryland mission. It seems so strange to not have her right there to talk to, but i couldn't be more proud of what she is doing. She is such an amazing example to me and i know she will help so many people out there. I sure do miss her though.

Next we celebrated our best friends wedding. Megan Josephine Lisonbee and Cameron Harris were married September 10th in the Salt Lake City Temple. It was such a beautiful day, and she was the most beautiful bride ever. Everything went smoothly and Dave and I were so grateful to have been a part of their special day. I couldn't be more happy for the two of them.....just wished they didn't have move 9 hours away! Guess we will have to go visit soon :)

Our most recent event was just last weekend. Dave and I joined my parents, my brother Jason, sister Jodee, and my uncle Greg and his family in Las Vegas. My brother in law Troy Thomas is the head coach of an all boys catholic school out in southern California and they were playing Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas, Nevada. We all met up Friday afternoon for the big event, which was being covered by ESPN. Even though it was the longest high school game in history, it was one of the most enjoyable games to watch. We sat through the pouring rain to support Servite Football. It was SO good to see my sister and her kids.

We're sad summer is over but are excited for the rest of this month...ITS HALLOWEEN, which is one of our favorite holidays!!! We also have another trip to Vegas planned for Dave's cousins wedding........maybe ill win more than 12 dollars this time around :)

Nana Eustolia Chavez Gonzalez August 2nd, 1918- August 6th, 2011

About a week and a half ago we got the news that my NANA had passed away due to a heartattack, she was 93 years old. Although she had lived a long life, it still came as a shock to get that message. I remember so many awesome memories with her and heard many more after she had passed. Although it was hard news to receive we all know she is in a better place and are grateful that she doesn't have to suffer any longer.

We found out that viewing was going to be that next Friday in Douglas, Arizona. The funeral would be held in Sierra Vista, Arizona on Saturday and then we would travel back down to Douglas for the burial. Needless to say there was plenty of driving involved. 15 hours to Arizona and many more after that. Luckily Dave and I were able to drive with my brother and his wife....they made the drive seem a lot shorter than it actually was. THANK HEAVENS for family right?

We were so grateful to have made it to the funeral. Although Dave had never met my grandma, i know he would have loved her. It was kind of hard not to love her blunt honestly and contagious laugh.

Nana Eustolia.....YOU WILL BE MISSED!

our crazy girls...

Im not quite sure how i haven't mentioned them yet because they are a huge part of our lives, but when i say, "sometimes crazy is good"....this is one of those thinkgs.
Meet SAMMI BUG

AND KODA BEAR

Two of the prettiest, most obedient girls you will ever know....does that mean they aren't crazy at times? HEAVENS NO!! They do, however, bring us so much JOY. Let me tell you a little bit about them.

SAMMI, is a.....well a mutt. We're not exactly sure what she is because we were told she was a yorkie/chihuahua mix....which she CLEARLY isn't. Whatever she is she is beautiful and the most cuddly, lovable dog EVER. She is now almost 2 years old....or....14 in dog years. KODA, is a playful, energetic pit bull-blue healer. Now i know people believe pit bulls to be aggressive, scary dogs and i just have to say that she is one of the most mellow, easy going, friendly pups you will ever come across. She is about 1 1/2 years old now and as lovable as the day we adopted her.

Now i have to say sometimes they can be a handful. Every morning we are awoken by Koda jumping on the bed and Sam crawling up to our faces and licking us till we finally get up. As angry as you might try to be about this, we can't help but laugh at them. They always look at us with those innocent eyes, like they are saying, "GOOD MORNING, we love you.......did we do something wrong?" Anytime we are gone we are welcomed home by excited puppy faces...which brings a smile to our face EVERY time. I don't know what i would do without my dogs, Dave works until 2 in the morning most nights....if i didn't have them...i would be one lonely NEWLYWED.

We LOVE our girls and even if they can make things crazyevery now and then...they also make things SO much better.

......They are part of the SCHWITZER MADNESS......

How we came to be...

You would think Dave and I have known each other for years, with us   ONLY living a few blocks away from each other our whole lives but NO.....we had never met. Seems so strange to think that the person i was to spend the rest of my life with was right next door the entire time. When i stopped looking everywhere else for a man to marry i saw what was right in front of me. Dave and I are so opposite in personalities its crazy. Hes loud and outgoing....i am quiet and tend to keep to myself. He talks to strangers anywhere he goes....and I....keep to myself. He is very musically talented and I....well I'm far from it. I guess it is true what they say, "opposites DO attract!" He is my better half I would have to say...he brings out the kid in me, which to others seems silly because i AM only 21 but sometimes i get too serious.
If it weren't for my best friend Jordan (who is now the best sister in law anyone could ever ask for) i would have never met him 2 years ago. Everything happens for a reason....and i see that now more clearly than ever. Long story short Jordan dated my brother...he left on his mission...he got back and it wasn't the same between them...started hanging out at her house instead....met Dave and the rest is history. If it weren't for Jordan and my brother dating for that short time before he left on his mission i would never have gotten so close to Jordan and i would have never met the LOVE OF MY LIFE!

We were married MAY 7TH, it was a beautiful sunny day.....couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to start our lives together. We were married at Le Chateau in Provo and it was perfect. SHORT AND SWEET...just the way we like it! We had so many family and friends come out just for our special day and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Its so nice to know we have such great support all around us, Love you all SO MUCH!

Just startin' out...

So im new at this blogging thing....i know the general idea of how it works, i have seen quite a few, but its a little different when you are doing it yourself. So i guess we just jump into it and hope it all goes alright. If you are super picky about things like spelling and correct grammar i probably wouldn't stick around for our page, BUT if you are up for a good read you might consider hangin' in there. We have lots to share!
