HOME: Where our story Begins

Its crazy to think that Dave and I have already been married for 8 months, even though that may seem like a short time for some of you, it seems like just yesterday we said, "I DO!"  Its been a busy, fun, stressful yet HAPPY 8  months for us and we are now starting another chapter in our lives together. We are building a HOME.

Dave's parents, Carl & Marie purchased a small home in Springville a little while ago, and their plan all along was to fix it up and sell it to us as our first home. So Dave and I went to see the home we would soon be buying and i have to be honest, when I first saw it....I was a little nervous. It was pretty beat up...the tile floors shifted from underneath our feet and everything looked as though it was from the 1950's. However, we were told it would look nothing like we saw it and that...that was very much the truth.

This my friends was what it started out looking like....
and this is where we are at today.
Its been really fun going through all the planning. From picking out the floor plan of the addition to picking out the color of siding. This is my first experience with all of this and normally i would have never thought it to be fun but it really has. Dave is currently doing all the electrical wiring for it and has done such an amazing job!  I am so lucky to have such a talented man for a husband!  He is working so hard to make our home as perfect for me as he can.  I can't wait till its actually finished and i can really start decorating!  We're hoping' to have it finished by March, which is coming up so fast.  Dave and I couldnt be more excited to start this new adventure and to have a place we can honestly call *.:HOME:.*

There is still a lot of work to be done so i will keep you posted on the new stuff that's happening in the next couple of months.  Like always its crazy around here...but we wouldn't have it any other way!!

Our winter, that doesnt seem like winter........

Oh my goodness i am the worlds WORST blogger, BUT, i am here now and that's what matters most....right???

This winter has been a busy one for us  SCHWITZERS this year, we celebrated our very 1st Christmas as a married couple and New Years as well. We also got in 2 accidents, Dave started working on the new house, I chopped my hair off, and we have been surrounded by friends and family for the holidays.

This winter has also been kind of different, not only was it our first together, but we have had no snow. What the heck? No snow in Utah? That's is just not normal. I wont lie, i haven't missed digging my car out of the snow, or scraping my windows of frost, or having my dogs come in from going potty and have their feet all muddy. I do however miss how beautiful it is outside when everything is white, and i missed waking up to a winter wonderland Christmas morning. And i KNOW, Dave really misses it, he loves everything about the snow and so for him...i hope it snows soon. But just once :)

Things have been so crazy for us lately, for starters....i totaled my cute little SUZUKI FORENZA.  That was not very fun for us. Not only were we out a car for awhile but we then had to deal with finding something else and insurance company junk. BUT, we were able to find a cute little RAV4 that is prefect for us and our pups. Then about 2 weeks ago Dave got rear ended...WOW...lucky us! At that point we just had to find humor in our wonderful luck.

The holiday season this year was definitely an amazing one. We celebrated 3 big things this year....my birthday (DEC. 20th), Christmas & new years. Poor Dave had double to buy for all at one time. We did so good though and bought me a brand new camera that i love so much.....and a WII! He also treated me to Tucanos for my 22nd birthday and to my surprise my best friend Megan Harris flew in from Cali early to be there for it. We also had our good friends Carla & Wayne Sleight join the fun. I couldn't have asked for a better night.  For Christmas my sister and her family came to town. That is my favorite part of the holiday.  It becomes a bit overwhelming sometimes with 8 million people crammed into my parents home but i wouldn't have it any other way! Dave and I couldnt ask for better people in our lives.

Thank you all for making the holiday season so special for us. We love you all and wish you the best this upcoming year!
